Adjectives ile Kıyaslama

1) Üç derece: Positive – Comparative – Superlative

• Positive (eşitlik):as + adj + as
  • Jack is as clever as David.
  • ✅ Sen yaz: This road is as wide as that one.
• Comparative (daha…):adj-er / more + adj + than
  • John is older than George.
  • ✅ Sen yaz: These shoes are more comfortable than mine.
• Superlative (en…):the adj-est / the most + adj
  • Mount Everest is the highest mountain.
  • ✅ Sen yaz: This is the most useful app I’ve ever downloaded.

2) Positive degree (as…as) – Eşitlik yapıları

• Formül: N1 + be + as + adjective + as + N2
• Olumsuz:not as/so + adjective + as
  • Gas isn’t as/so expensive as electricity.
• Birden fazla “as…as” aynı cümlede:
  • No other animal is as tall as a giraffe or as fast as a cheetah.

• Olumlu: The blue car is as attractive as the red one.
• Olumsuz: This actor is not as/so handsome as you said.
• İki sıfat: Ankara is as big and crowded as Istanbul (for some districts).

3) “as…as” + much/many

• as many + countable N / as much + uncountable N
  • We need as many chairs as possible.
  • I don’t have as much money as I thought.

4) “as…as” + miktar belirleyiciler

• half / twice / three times / a quarter / a third … + as + adj + as
  • She married a man three times as old as her.

5) Fiyat karşılaştırmaları

• Steak is about three times as expensive as chicken.
• Chicken is about a third the price of steak.
• This T-shirt costs twice as much (money) as yours.

8) Benzerlik & fark söylemleri

Fark (contrast)

• A is different from B / A is not as…as B
• A differs from B / A and B differ
  • Your cat is different from mine (in weight).
  • Your cat is not as heavy as mine.

• City A and City B differ in climate.

Benzerlik (similarity)

10) “the same … as” (aynılık)

  • She is the same height as your mother.

11) “The … of N1” / “that of …” (adıllaşmış “-ninki”)

• The size of Ankara is twice that of Samsun.
